Brightest young district math students shine on national stage

Congratulations to the members of the Michigan Team for their 5th place finish out of 56 teams at the 2017 National Mathcounts Competition in Orlando, Florida.  The four member Michigan Team included three Boulan Park students and one student from Northville.  Two-hundred and twenty four students competed representing every State, the Virgin Islands, Guam, Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, Department of Defense Schools and Department of State School. 

The individual finishes of the Boulan Park members:  Reagan Choi (6th), Alex Xu (7th), and Varun Rajesh (96th).  Reagan and Alex participated in the 12 student Countdown Round that was televised live on ESPN3.  Alex was recognized for participating in the National competition for 3 years and Reagan for 2 years (so far)!  The Michigan Team was coached by Mr. Martin, Spencer Liu (junior at THS and BP alumni) and Freddie Zhao (sophomore at THS and BP alumni).
